Water in Chandigarh-Manali Highway | Postpone Manali-Leh Road trip
There are reports of cloud bursts at some places in Himachal Pradesh. Also, some roads are blocked due to massive landslide and the National Highway 21 (NH-21) is also blocked due to landslide and river level rise up. Nearly 2,000 tourists struck in Lahaul and Spiti valley.

Due to continuous heavy rain, Kullu district has lost contact with other districts.
Floods in Kullu | Manaki-Leh and Chandigarh-Manali highway shut. The national highway between Kullu and Manali partly damaged due to heavy rain and landslide. Roads and bridges are closed and people living close to the rivers are trying to shift to safer areas. Meanwhile, a building of government school at Palchan village collapsed due to the flood in the Beas river.
Bhoot ka jharna in Rajgarh, Manikaran Bilaspur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, and Chamba is the most affected districts in Himachal Pradesh.
In Shimla, 11 people lost their life due to heavy rainfall.
The newly constructed bridge helped to distribute the traffic of the highway of Akhara bazaar, This bridge over Beas river was used to route the traffic coming from Manali to Kullu as a part of the one-way route, The bridge collapsed yesterday night due to the continuous heavy rainfall in the valley.
20 और 21 अगस्त को बंद रहेगी बिजली विद्युत उपमंडल भुंतर के तहत लाइनों की आवश्यक मरम्मत के चलते 20 अगस्त को जिया, सब्जी मंडी भुंतर, फॉरेस्ट चैक, जेजे रिजॉर्ट, मौहल चैक, अगला, फार्म, पिरडी और आस-पास के इलाकों में सुबह 10 से सायं 5 बजे तक बिजली की आपूर्ति बाधित रहेगी। इसी प्रकार 21 अगस्त को मणिकर्ण चैक, शमशी, तेगूबेहड़, शुरढ़, जमोट, पांगी कालोनी, कोयल, काली, अपर मौहल, खोखन, शिकारी, परमाणु, भैंस नाला और आस-पास के क्षेत्रों में सुबह 10 से सायं 5 बजे तक बिजली बंद रहेगी।
All the water streams between Kullu-Manali to Rohtang and Sarchu are in spate/rise and have made travelling extremely risky and also tones are falling on the roads in Kullu. People living close to rivers have started to move to safe places to spend the night. The flood in the Beas has shaken the foundations of nearly a dozen bridges in Kullu. The access Rainfall causes the situation of flood in Kullu valley and has forced hydel projects to release water in rush.
Schools, colleges and all other educational instutes in Kullu district will be closed tomorrow on Monday (19-AUG-2019), DC Kullu said.
Two trucks got stuck in the middle of the Beas river at Patlikuhal near Manali after the water level rose suddenly. The truck drivers, both Nand Kishor and Ravi, identified as residents of Rajasthan, were rescued with the help of ropes and a hydra crane as shown in the picture below.

Like every year, flood in Himachal Pradesh has shaken foundation of bridges, shuts roads and cripple echonomy and infrastructure. Let us see will our BJP Government will take any action on this because again this year all the budget of development will be used in repairs.

◙ Do not plan your journey till the next few days (till 21-AUG-2019) as the weather of Kullu-Manali is not good nowadays.
◙ If you are already in any place of Himachal, better to stay there for the next few days and stop your movements.
◙ Strictly avoid traveling from Chandigarh-Manali and Manali-Leh Highway in the rainy season.
