The inauguration of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji on October 3rd, 2020.

Atal tunnel Status Today = OPEN

Atal Tunnel Rohtang is OPEN today 16-SEP-2024 due to a cloud burst on Wednesday night. Reach out to me on Instagram @travellingphone to get the latest status. Tourists are also allowed to go through the tunnel and visit Sissu village. Beyond the Atal tunnel toward Lahoul, you may not allowed to go as things will depend on the daily road conditions due to weather. You may only be allowed to reach the Atal Tunnel if there is snow on the road and the road is slippery.

Open time: 24x7.

Maintenance Time(May vary sometimes): From 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the morning

and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the evening.

The decision to close the tunnel for one hour on a daily basis is taken due to the maintenance activity being carried out twice daily. These timings are official timings but still, I saw Tunnel was opened in these time slots as well.

Atal Tunnel which people also call Rohtang Tunnel connects beautiful Manali to Beautiful Lahoul & Spiti.

Border Road Organisation(BRO) played the main role in the construction of this tunnel.

Buses started on all six to seven routes of the corporation from Udaipur to Kullu and Keylong. At the same time, after the fresh snowfall last week, the Atal Tunnel via Rohtang has started operating buses after four days from Tuesday. Vehicle movement is allowed on Highway 305. The best ever thing is that you can enjoy the Manali- Leh Bike Trip.

This is the best time to visit Atal Tunnel Rohtang here and also you can try to visit Sissu village. The Manali-Leh is also open to tourists.
