Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation is also known as HRTC. The best parts of HRTC are the roads and drivers. Driving on roads listed in one of the deadliest roads in India makes the drivers special.

HRTC says :


At the time of Independence, on 15th April 1948, The state Himachal Pradesh was formed as a "C" class State by the merger of 33 hilly States of North-Western Himalayas. Passenger and goods services were nationalized in the state in July 1949. During the year 1958, "Mandi-Kullu Road Transport Corporation" was floated jointly by the government of Punjab state, Himachal, and Railways under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950 basically to work on the joint routes within the States of Punjab and Himachal. On 02.10.1974, Himachal Government Transport was merged with Mandi-Kullu Road Transport Corporation and was renamed "Himachal Road Transport Corporation."


After the formation of the state of Himachal Pradesh on 15th July 1948, the network of roads in the state received the top-most priority of the state Government.
