Kullu-Manali weather | Heavy Rain fall | Snow fall in Rohtang | Flood like situation | Travelling Phone

As a part of India, Kullu is a district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in North India.
The monsoon season, from July to September, brings heavy rainfall to the region. While the rain rejuvenates the lush greenery, it can also lead to roadblocks and landslides. Travelers are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and road conditions during this time.

Winter is a magical season in Kullu Manali, as the entire landscape is blanketed in a pristine layer of snow. However, the weather can be harsh and temperatures can drop below freezing point. It's essential to pack warm clothing and prepare for possible road closures due to heavy snowfall.

Rohtang Pass around 51 km away from Manali contacts Kullu Valley with Lahaul and Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
Throughout the year, Kullu Manali experiences dramatic shifts in weather conditions. In summer, the sun shines brightly, and temperatures are pleasant, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities like paragliding, river rafting, and trekking. However, even during these months, sudden showers or thunderstorms can occur, adding an unexpected twist to your plans.
Heavy rain in the past 3-4 days has caused flood situations here in Kullu Valley also snowfall happened in Rohtang Pass yesterday as well. But now after breaking the record of heavy rainfall and flood situation of 1995, the weather is better. Today as of now at morning 10:00AM it's only cloudy and relief from the heavy rain and flood situation. Schools and all educational institutes will remain closed like yesterday. This applies to all government and private educational institutes.
Heavy rain caused the roadblock, landslide, and broke down roads at different points in between Kullu Manali NH-21. Near Manali, Kalath, where roads broke down, can be seen below in the picture.

Also, a tourist bus washed away in a flood near Manali at the Private Volvo bus terminal. The picture can be seen below.

As I am from Kullu I can say this was not like a disaster like news channels are highlighting for their TRP. But yes we are affected due to this. After heavy rainfalls road conditions aren't good enough and landslides, electricity, etc. Most of the area or road that is affected is from Jhidi to Manali, NH-21.
After 3 days of a rush today, it's extremely good weather/climate here in Kullu Valley (Kullu-Manali) You can see the below picture.

Winding up for now, But you can reach me on the Contact Us page or on fb@TravellingPhone travellingphone@yahoo.com for the latest/live update on today's weather.
